Control

Priorities

Control of the television remote is serious business around here. Especially when you are on the younger end of the hierarchy. One MUST take steps to exercise control!

Never mind that he wasn't going to have time to use it, because Mom says homework takes priority over tv screen time. Or that parents can overrule.

He tries though.

....we should work on some spelling too, I think.

Gratitude Experiment

It is said that Gratitude can change you. It can change your attitude and your life. I am going to do my own Gratitude experiment and see what happens.

Nothing to lose. Everything to gain.

We need more of an Attitude of Gratitude in our world!

Love...Running

"I run because it's my passion, and not just a sport. Running, to me is more than just a physical exercise...it's a consistent reward for victory."

I am thankful that our princess has the ability, desire, and personal drive to run.  She has come so far and accomplished so very much.  In addition to her accomplishments and success, she has remained humble, and kind, and supportive and encouraging to her teammates.  We are so very blessed with her.  Thank you God for such a tremendous blessing as her in our lives!

She raced in her last race of the season today at the state finals for cross country.  She worked so very hard and she.made.it! She had a wonderful and safe season. She had wonderful and supportive teammates. She has an Awesome Coach! It was cold and very wet, but it stopped raining in time for her race. Blessing. She had a tremendous group of supporters in attendance for her. What a blessing to have so many people willing to travel so far, in cold, damp weather, so early in the morning, on a Saturday. Blessing.

What a blessing and an honor.

GRATITUDE

Gratitude

The quality of being thankful.

...readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

Why is it that so many of us need to be reminded so frequently to be grateful, to express our gratitude, and to show it in return?

Why must we be reminded?

Why don't more of us make it a daily practice?

I can only imagine what could happen if more people took that brief moment to pause and reflect.

Let us try...let us practice...let us instill the practice in our children...let us spread the practice, and the feeling to those around us.  Let us just see what beautiful things can happen.

I dare myself.  I dare you too.

So Much To Be Thankful For - 12

So Much To Be Thankful For - 12

I am thankful for the rough and trying days, like today, for they teach me to appreciate when little things DO work out and go smoothly.  Hopefully, lesson learned.  Tomorrow is a new day!  Make a conscious choice to see things in a more positive light.  Listen.  Stop talking and pay attention.  Take stock.

Show extra love and attention to my husband and children.  Give them the BEST of me...not what is left over after a long day.  They deserve better...and so do I.

So Much To Be Thankful For - 11

So Much To Be Thankful For - 11

As I type this it is 10:10 on 11/11.  I think that is cool.  I know it may seem nerdy, but I've always taken note of silly things like this.

I am so thankful today for the veterans that have served this country throughout time. It is an incredible sacrifice.

I am also thankful for such an unseasonably warm day.  It was such a blessing for our whole family.  We opened the windows and really enjoyed the warm fresh air and nice breeze.  Of course, the nice breeze we enjoyed today is bringing much cooler weather.  I am certain there will be blessing in it too.

So Much To Be Thankful For - 10

So Much To Be Thankful For - 10

I am so thankful for opportunities for our children.  We truly enjoyed a wonderful group of girls competing in a Lego Robotics competition.  They all learned so much and grew, both individually and as a team.  We are so very proud of their accomplishment!  Way to go, Girls!
